The 1995 Sylviane Cabernet Sauvignon is the second release of this fine Bordeaux red varietal from Leducq Vineyards.

This is a wonderfully elegant Cabernet Sauvignon. It has aromas reminiscent of black cherries which are typically present upon reaching optimum maturity in the Cabernet from this vineyard. The 1995 vintage was long and ripening was slow and even. The tannins were able to develop even after optimum sugar levels were reached in the grapes. When the fruit was tasted and determined to be at the best ripeness, it was hand picked, destemmed, and fermented in small stainless steel tanks. The color, tannins, and flavors were extracted in the traditional Bordeaux techniques and the wine was aged for fourteen months in small French oak barrels. It was fined with egg whites at the end of fourteen months and bottled. The wine was then bottle aged for six months prior to release in October 1997.

This wine is an example of a great wine from a great region from a great vintage! It will reach its peak in 5-10 years and will be drinking nicely for many years after that.
